Market explosion!�2.4 billion ,France Alstom obtain Ukraine 130 sets of train locomotive order
Brief introduction
In October 2020,French ambassador in Ukraine ,general manager of France Alstom hold a meeting with Ukraine government official .The two parties discussed the cooperation future of the projects in which France Alstom offered the electrical locomotive ,and also the possibility of partial localized manufacturing and maintenance in Ukraine.In addition,France is willing to provide part of finance for the projects.
In Jan 2021,Ukraine’s national (Foreign commodities market monitoring information analysis center)said:National railways of Ukraine .
Was will to purchase France Alstom’s electrical locomotive.Earlier,Ukraine ambassador in France said:A number of agreement will be signed during French president visiting Ukraine,including the purchase of locomotive .
May 13th local time,Ukraine and French government signed a number of agreements ,including 130 sets(dual- voltage)locomotive from Alstom,which values at �880 million.In addition,the contract also covers(covering) 40 years of maintenance for the equipment,with a total contract budge (supply and maintenance) of �2.4 billion.
French Alstom has pledged to increase its localization rate to 35% ( admitted to upgrade project localization to 35%,)and create 150-600 jobs as well.
 In addition to locomotive localization ,the two parties also plan to have deep cooperation in high speed rail project.
CRRC actively strive for the bid.
Background of the project
In September 2018(Germany Berlin Exhibition),National Railways of Ukraine signed Memorandum of Cooperation with CRRC and Alstom respectively
In the coming 7 years,National Railways of Ukraine plans to purchase at least 200 sets new locomotive.In the coming 10 years,planing to purchase for 500 sets of new locomotive.
Oct 17th 2019,National railways of Ukraine met CRRC and Alstom delegation respectively,discussing in the area of (electrical)locomotive purchase.
National railways of Ukraine is willing to cooperate with all the locomotive manufacturer,and And be prepared to consider the proposed options offered.

In Feb 2021,National Railways of Ukraine announced:according to two decisions approved by the president,the government will start tender process of electrical locomotive purchase ,total 205 sets.
In 2020,National Railways of Ukraine started the tender process,inviting the locomotive manufacturer to participate( join )into the prequalification .

In July 2020, Economic Development Committee of the Supreme Rada (government parliament) /ˈpɑːrləmənt/of Ukraine passed a localization act to ensure GDP growth creating job opportunities and increasing the tax revenue.According to the proposal,the initial localization rate in various of areas( a number of area) should be 25%-40%.
